I hope after this is all over there is reform in how care homes are run. Too many workers are sent from agencies to multiple care homes, instead of being hired by the care homes themselves. That can't be good for continuity of care, and is TERRIBLE at spreading infections.
In BC, private care homes receive the same per-patient rates from the province as publicly-run care homes do (for publicly-funded beds in private homes) yet pay their staff substantially less. They are also chronically short of staff and seldom provide the required hours of care. Gee, I wonder why?
I hope there are substantial reforms before I get to the point of needing to be in care.
